Not at ALL! Real homes are where real memories happen – they don’t need to look Pinterest perfect. All I need is some good window light and we’ll make magic. I’ll help you choose the best time of day based on when your home gets the most natural light, and we’ll talk about which rooms you’d love to use whether it’s the nursery, living room, bedroom, outside, or a little of everything! And don’t stress about the mess... homes are meant to be lived in, crumbs and all.

Picking outfits for a session is often the hardest part – but don’t worry, I’ve got your back! My biggest tip is for mom to choose her outfit first, something that makes her feel comfortable and confident, and then base the rest of the family’s outfits around hers. Neutral or jewel tones work beautifully, and coordinating (not matching) outfits create a timeless look. Avoid heavy patterns, neon colors, or logos, and mixing different textures always looks amazing. I’m currently working on a full outfit guide that I’ll share after booking with even more tips and ideas, and I’m always happy to chat if you want advice on colors or putting looks together.

Yes! I’ll send a list of my favorites but I’m also open to your ideas! Anywhere that would feel like you! While forest preserves and fields are always beautiful, I’m always down to find a spot that is a little different and tells your family’s story – maybe it’s a quirky little ice cream shop, a carnival, your favorite playground, or even your own backyard! No pressure to get creative though – I’m totally happy shooting in one of my usual favorite spots as well. I’ll also let you know what timing would work so we get the best light and make the most of it!

Not really but sometimes. For my special mini events like Mommy & Me or Christmas Card Minis, I turn my living room into a cozy home studio! But my home studio is only available during those specific mini events, so keep an eye on my Instagram to see when they’re happening. If you’d like a studio for a regular session, there are plenty of rental spaces in the area – you’d just cover the rental fee, and we can make it happen!

I don’t offer discounts at this time. With 10+ years of photography experience, I’ve carefully priced my sessions to reflect the time, energy, and love I pour into every session – from planning, to shooting, to editing your gallery with intention and care. I do occasionally offer mini session events at a lower price point, so keep an eye on my Instagram stories for those announcements!
